Enhancing Connection Performance
Sometimes, DaDesktop might alert you if your connection shows high 'latency' (delay) that could affect performance.
If that happens, you can follow the tips below to boost your connection quality.

Steps to take
- Whenever you can, plug in via Ethernet. If you're on Wi-Fi, run a speed test first to see your current speed—try a site like speedtest.net.
- Try to stay near your Wi‑Fi router if you can. Prefer the 5 GHz band over 2.4 GHz—the latter tends to be slower and more prone to interference.
- Turn off or disable any VPNs or proxy services before joining the session.
- If feasible, shut down security software that might interfere with your network, since they can sometimes increase latency.
-
If your network includes content or domain filters, reach out to your company’s IT support for help.
Adding these domains to your allowlist often resolves issues:
1. https://\*.npg.io (any subdomain under .npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Try not to run large downloads or uploads while in the course—for example, postpone OS updates on Windows, Mac, or Linux until after you’ve finished.
-
Your connection needs to be faster than 10 Mbps for downloads and 1 Mbps for uploads.
