FAQ (DaDesktop for Training)

1. For Power Bi and VBA, is there Excel inside DaDesktop (DD)? (Because MS Excel functions are required)

  1. MS Office is not included in DD (Win10 & Win11 Pro). The platform only supplies a DD virtual machine and a Training room.
  2. Instructors are advised to set up a free-trial MS Office account for all participants.
  3. Alternatively, delegates can use their personal MS Office accounts.

2. Can I copy something from my own desktop to my DD desktop?

  1. Yes, we have added a straightforward way to transfer files from your local device to the DD Desktop. The only minor catch is that you can only move one file at a time right now. But you can simply bundle everything into a zip or archive and then copy that over to your DaDesktop machine with no trouble.
  2. If you're using cloud storage, make sure you log out of it before cloning to all delegates.

3. Why is the text in DD blurry, unclear, or even invisible？

  1. If you're on Chrome, head to "chrome://settings/system" and turn off the Hardware acceleration setting.

4. Do Trainers have access to the NobleProg wiki?

  1. No, as stated in the Terms and Conditions at https://hr.nobleprog.com/trainer/register, trainers are not permitted wiki access.
  2. To submit edits for the NobleProg wiki, just copy & paste the content and email it to the trainer. A PDF works too.

5. Are there any domains we can whitelist when using proxy or content/network filtering to enable better working?

Yes! Please whitelist any domains that follow this pattern :-

6. How can I have multiple desktops when using DD, like Ansible Training?

  1. Instructors can begin by configuring the DD environment (RAM, CPUs, and disk).
  2. Next, install Virt Manager or VirtualBox inside DD to create multiple VMs, and then configure the network between them.
  3. Once setup is complete, you can clone the setup to delegates almost instantly.
  4. If you need assistance, reach out to DaDesktop Support.

7. What is the server capacity?

  1. It varies based on the server hardware.
  2. As an example, 512GB of RAM could be allocated as 512GB *3.
  3. Each server can have up to 250GB disk space, each desktop can use 16 CPU threads, and RAM can be customized.

8. Can I download the Video from the Training Recordings?

  1. Yes, you can now download recordings using the three little dots next to the video player.
  2. If you’ve used the training room’s audio, the video includes voice recording.

9. Which browser should I used for DD?

  1. Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera all run smoothly.
  2. Browsers such as IE aren't fully supported.

10. Why is there a huge delay using DaDesktop?

  1. Your network connection plays a big role—DaDesktop performance depends on your local speed.
  2. Verify the server location. When the coordinator sets up the desktop, they always pick a server close to the participants.
  3. Switch off your VPN or set it to PAC mode. Also, disable any security software, particularly anything that interferes with WebSockets, as they are essential for smooth DaDesktop functioning.

11. Websocket is blocked or not supported by network

         Remote Desktop access depends on Websocket

  1. This might be caused by your device blocking it. Look through your settings for anything that blocks Websocket. For example, on some Chromebooks, in the proxy settings, if "Use the same proxy for all protocols" is turned on, Websocket fails because it forces the SOCKS host through a proxy. Uncheck that option and leave "SOCKS host" empty to resolve it.
  2. It could also be the network, not your device. You'll need to contact your network administrator to have them unblock Websocket.

12. What support do you have for GPU, ie for 3d applications, etc ?

13. Is there any potential issues or answers?

  1. Using DaDesktop is generally just like working on a standard Windows or Linux machine. However, when running certain software in a training setup—especially during cloning—you might encounter a handful of minor issues.

14. Do you support Mac compatible programs or Mac Emulation?

  1. No, we don't offer support for Mac-compatible software or Mac emulation. This is mainly because of frequent licensing complications.
