GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for specific courses through GPU reservations. This mechanism grants these courses priority access to requested GPU compute hardware, ensuring that training sessions and labs have the essential infrastructure required to operate successfully.

The following steps outline the process for establishing a GPU reservation for a course:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page. Below the Video conference button, locate and click the blue button labeled "Reserve GPU".

A prompt will appear, requesting essential details for your GPU request.

The first step involves selecting a location, which defaults to "Anywhere".

If you know which city is closest to the participants, you can specify it by selecting "Within distance from city" and entering the location manually.

For broader location coverage, you can select the "Others..." option.

Once you have confirmed your location preference, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you will define the machine requirements.

In this section, specify the resources needed for each machine to obtain an accurate estimate of the resource costs.

** It is crucial to provide precise details here. Accurate input leads to better cost estimation and assists course managers in locating alternative resources if specific regions are unavailable.

If you are satisfied with the entered details, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

In this part, it is advisable to consult with the trainer to determine the exact needs of the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the required GPU Vendor and Model. If there is any uncertainty on your part or the trainer’s, please select "ANY".

Currently, we offer services for two vendors: AMD & Nvidia.

Regarding models, our current catalogue is listed. If the trainer’s specific needs are unclear, please leave this field as "ANY".

Once you are ready to finalize the reservation, click "Place reservation". This action will allocate the necessary funds, activate the reservation, and mark it as active on the course page, as demonstrated below:
