SSH Access

SSH AccessFor the sake of convenience, we often receive requests to enable SSH access to DaDesktop machines, so that course participants and trainers can connect to their Desktop machines directly from their own laptop or desktop PC. It makes sense—many people prefer typing commands in their local terminal rather than inside a terminal on a remote Desktop.

While this is technically doable, we do not allow SSH access in this context, as it would unnecessarily expose the DaDesktop course machines to major potential security risks.

We have introduced a drag and drop file transfer feature so that you can easily add files from your own laptop or desktop into the DaDesktop machine. Some of the earlier requests for full SSH access came up because transferring files wasn't possible before, but with this feature now available, using DaDesktop has become even more practical.

It's worth noting that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on Windows and Linux OS templates. This means you can copy and paste commands from your local machine directly into the DaDesktop machine much more smoothly than before—even when using a Mac or working with non-English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is allowed when needed.
