Recycle Bin
Once a course finishes, all associated machines—such as the Fresh Start, Trainer, and Participant systems—are deleted after a brief time.
There's now a way to retrieve these machines from the 'Recycle Bin' for some time after they've been removed. The recovery window varies based on things like server disk space, how heavily the course was used, and other factors rather than a fixed schedule. Generally, though, you can expect machines to remain recoverable for at least two months after the course ends.
You can have a machine Restored to its original course if that course is still active. If not, it can be Restored to a Standalone Desktop, or you can have it Deleted entirely if you prefer.
You can check the status of your Recycle bin by looking at the Recycle Bin icon. A black icon means there are restorable machines; a greyed-out icon indicates the bin is empty and nothing can be recovered.
The recycle bin also lets you search your machines by name, server name, or course name.
Restoring or Deleting Your Machines from the Recycle Bin
- Restore - Use this option to return a machine that was removed from a course back to that same course. If the course has already ended, the machine can't be restored there—instead you'll need to restore it as a Standalone machine (see below).
- Restore to Standalone Desktop - Choose this when the course is no longer available and you need to recover the machine independently. Restoring it as a Standalone machine keeps it for as long as you need, giving you more control.
- Delete - To permanently remove a machine from the Recycle Bin, select this option. Note that once deleted from the bin, the machine cannot be recovered.
- Empty Recycle Bin - Hitting the red Empty Recycle Bin button removes all machines from the bin at once, meaning they can no longer be restored.
