Expanding disk storage on a Fresh-start desktop within a course

When a Fresh-start machine runs short on disk space, you can easily resize it to allocate more storage
  1. First, halt the Fresh-start machine
  2. Next, choose Clone & Resize to convert to Standalone, as shown below (if you haven't already, set up an organization) Clone - Resize to Standalone Desktop
  3. At this stage, set the desired disk size and submit
  4. Go to the 'Standalones' link at the top of the page to locate it and confirm it's present
  5. Back in the course, remove the original Fresh-start machine using the 'Delete' button
  6. Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button
    Create from Standalone

  7. In the 'Create from Standalone' dialog, you also have the option to increase the disk size if it wasn't done earlier
Create Freshh Start from Standalone, choose disk size change
  8. Add an alias name if needed, then click the 'Create Desktop' button
  9. For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the operating system will expand automatically. Note that AlmaLinux standard templates set up partitions differently, requiring manual steps as detailed below.
  10. For custom OS templates, you may need to manually extend the partitions; the steps are provided below.
